1) Take the hilly route

Running on flat ground is great, but running more hills can improve your strength and speed, while pushing you to put more power into your workout.

2) Keep your shoulders open and together

Your speed and endurance will suffer if your shoulders are hunched. Consciously think about your posture as you run, and it will eventually become second nature!

3) Worry about yourself

Taking a peek at your neighbor’s treadmill won’t do much to benefit your own workout. Run at your own pace, whatever feels right, instead of trying to catch up to someone else. Listen to your own body!

4) Switch up your speed

Running at a slow jog or a fast sprint for your entire run isn’t going to help you reach your maximum potential, but switching it up with interval training will!

5) Unclench those fists

Squeezing your fists together will tense up your whole body. Keep your hands relaxed enough that if you were holding a potato chip, you wouldn’t break it. This way, your body can focus all of its energy on more important muscles.
